Sherlocks ( E.E. Warne Store )

This unique building was constructed after the last great fire by E.E. Warne. Their was a general store on the first floor, and family living quarters on the second floor. In 1908 Milton Sain purchased the property and operated the business for twenty years.

The Knights of Pythius held lodge meetings upstairs for several years. After standing empty for 40 years, the building became an antique store in 1973. Restoration was completed in 1992.

Currently owned by Tony and Terry Dykes. The Sherlocks building has been re-named as the Rose Cottage. The Rose Cottage is an antique store and bed and breakfast. They carry antiques, gifts and many collectables.

I.O.O.F. Hall

Built of redwood after the 1899 fire. This building has always been an IOOF Hall and is still used for meetings. At one time it housed the North County Courthouse with a Justice of the Peace. Currently on the ground floor this building accommodates the Coulterville Christian Church.

New Sunday School Church

Built by the hands of the local members of the Coulterville Christian Church.

Public Cemetery

Many of the Coulterville Pioneers are buried here. The intricate rock work seen in the cemetery is the work of John Musante. The cemetery is still in use today for public burials.

Old Town Jail

Not very big, but effective! The cable hoist from the Mary Harrison Mine was used for reinforcing the walls, making it quite escape proof.

Town Park

Opened in June 1959 - has playground equipment, basketball/tennis court, swimming pool.

Location of all town happenings (The Coyote Howl, 4th July Fire Dept BBQ, Gunfighter Weekend.)

Town Post Office - originally started in 1852.

This building was orginally a bandstand, and was located where the Post Office building now stands. The bandstand was once a poker parlor, a barber shop, and during World War II, it was used to spot airplanes. Prior to the current post office as we see it now, their was a automobile service and gas station owned and operated by Gene Dalton, during which time Mr. Dalton was the county Supervisor for this district.

Red Feather Antique Store and Take Your Pic Shop

The main part of this building was built in 1870's and was a general store operated by Mrs' Commissiona. Later the Conava family operated the store until the 1940's. The store part of the building was added during the depression era, and was used as a store warehouse. It is now the home of the Red Feather Antique store.
