Coulterville’s Lion’s Park
Coulterville’s Lion’s Park located in the heart of downtown Coulterville across from the school is host to many activities throughout the year. The park becomes a lighted wonderland every December as it is home to the Coulterville Holiday Light Display, which consists of over 1/4 million twinkling lights and hundreds of hand crafted figurines. The park also hosts various activities throughout the year including car shows, festivals, picnics, and a variety of music shows.
Village of Coulterville City Park
The Village of Coulterville City Park is one of the finest parks in Southern Illinois. It encompasses almost 5 acres and is located on the south end of town just off State Route 153 on King Street. It offers a wide variety of activities for both young and old alike. The park features 2 state of the art lighted ball fields, fenced in play area for children, paved walking track, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts. Also located in the park are two pavilions and a concession building that offers a great place to have a company picnic, family reunion, or just to bring the family for a Sunday picnic. Village of Coulterville Lake
The Village of Coulterville Lake offers good fishing in a beautiful setting. The City Lake located on North State Route 153 just a mile outside city limits on Lake Road. It offers ample parking and a paved boat ramp for fisherman. The lake offers great fishing and a great opportunity to enjoy the wonderful outdoors.
Coyote ATV
Located just 1 mile outside of Coulterville is one of southern Illinois’s elite ATV and Dirt Bike trails with its new MotoCross Track. Coyote ATV is a privately owned facility located on Aster Road 1 mile north of State Route 13. Turn at Pistol City Restaurant onto Nashville Road and follow signs to the Trails. These trails are open 7 days a week and offers acres of trails for all skill levels of ATV and dirt bike enthusiasts. All visitors must register at Grand Cote Petroleum (GPC) next to Coulterville Public School in downtown Coulterville to receive their daily pass.
Rockbranch Raceway
Located next to the Coyote ATV trails is the Rockbranch Raceway. This private facility offers Go–Kart Racing on Saturday evenings during the summer months. The lighted 1/5 mile dirt track also offers seating and concessions for its guests. This track is located off Aster Road 1 mile north of State Route 13. Turn at Pistol City Restaurant onto Nashville Road and follow signs to the Race Track. THE RACEWAY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED AND WILL REOPEN SUMMER OF 2010.
